Hello to Every Shedder.
Someone popped by last week and wanted to know where the rest of our Shed was. He couldn’t believe that everything we produce came from such a small Shed !!! So we are taking that as a huge compliment.
Thank you
To Michael who due to an operation is unable to be with us for several weeks, felt that he wanted to repay the missing session fee, so he has very kindly purchased some new equipment for the railway. Thank you so much as that will give pleasure to those involved for many years to come. We wish you well and hope to see you back on Mondays very soon.
Thank you to a very kind couple who called by the shed and gave us a brand new sewing machine and die cutting machine. A very expensive gift, very much appreciated.
Ladies Craft Afternoons
The first two have taken place and were enjoyed by all who attended. The venue for these meetings will change but for the next month will be in the Watering Hole. The idea is to have an enjoyable afternoon and join in and have a go at a different crafts, should you wish too.
There will be a programme of “one off Craft Workshops” starting in September which we are hoping to run from The Veterans Centre. This is a way of encouraging people to join in and hopefully come on a regular basis. Many clubs are also finding it difficult to get new members and keep them, so fingers crossed as it will bring in the extra revenue to pay the rent.
Hobby Horse
He [The Horse] is now finished and been put for sale on eBay and social media. Thank you to Ray for such a splendid job.
Adirondack Chairs
Clive is now making infant & junior style chairs to sell in The Secret Garden. They are so cute. It appears there is a market from the children who attend The Forrest School in Quex.
Outing to Wild Wood
So far only one member and his partner have come forward with a wish to attend. Please let me know if you would like to go and if a different date suits you better.
Grant
Penny has sent off one grant application to The Co-Op and two more are in the pipeline with Charity mentor. So if we get lucky we will need friends and family to get busy ticking the box in our Co-Op !!!
Friday 15th August
We will be at Dog Acre from 10.00 – 16.00hrs for the Muli- Agency Community Information Day. Jason Gordon – Community Warden invited us to join in.
Skip Day
A skip has been booked for Monday 7th July 9.00am
Bacon Butties for those who can help.
We are aware that this is “Quiet Monday” but it will be emptying the spare shed and not interrupt the Train Guys.
Monday was chosen as it is the quietest time in the village with no traffic or parked cars. We have permission to put the skip as near to the shed as we can.
The skip is only there for a few hours as we don’t want it to be left for others to fill.
Any wood that you want must be taken by then. If anyone in the craft village wants any please get them to take it there and then.
As another newsletter comes to a close, I hope you have all survived the heatwave and look forward to a few cooler sunny days in the month ahead.
