Hello… yet another month rushed by …
First let us wish a successful operation to Clive and hopefully a speedy recovery. Sylv is
still undergoing physio on her knee, which has proved to be a very difficult and painful
recovery for her.
Following the committee meeting Mike Kite has relinquishing the position of Treasurer
and Kevin has agreed to take on the role. We will be formally thanking Mike at the AGM in
January but wish to thank him for everything that he archived for us all in The Shed. So
much work behind the scenes and kept the Shed afloat, dealing with more than just the
money.
The railway boys are very happy in their new surroundings, and I must say their new
Shed is to be envied. We wish them well. The reorganisation of our Shed is underway
enabling more working space for us all. The donated tabletop now has legs and can be
sat round!
John and I attended Westgate Library and gave a talk on our Shed. 36 residents attended
and were really engaged. A great afternoon. They meet every Monday from 2.30 – 4.00
Usually there is a guest speaker, and you get a drink and cake. Perfect.
The sledge for Wildwood has been completed and is awaiting collection. Huge thank
you to all involved with its production.
Repair and Revamp start on Tuesday afternoon; as yet no one has come forward,
although bookings are good for Decoupage, soldering and a DIY workshop.
Penny is running out of ideas of how to attract ladies to join on a weekly basis; it’s hard.
work! So maybe next month will just be workshops and one-on-one sessions. There are 115
activities in Birchington weekly for residents to attend so we have a bit of competition
out there!!!
The Christmas Meal is now booked; details are below. The menu is also on the notice board.
£35.00 includes 3 courses and coffee and mince pie.

shedders would prefer.
