Newsletter January 2026

A very Happy New Year to you all.

December successes –

Christmas Meal at The Powell was great and enjoyed by all who attended.  The food was well presented and more than plentiful.

Ladies @ BMS held a workshop at The Veterans Centre, which was attended by 11 ladies. Making £50 for the Shed Mulled Wine and Mince Pies at The Shed was also well attended and enjoyed by Shedders.

Apologies – For the fact that the Quex Gate was not opened during the Christmas period.

We only have 2 keys for these gates and hopefully have learnt a lesson that we must be better prepared regarding our opening times and when we can physically open the gates.

AGM – The Veterans Centre needs us to be finished earlier, so we have brought forward the start time for the AGM, which will now be 13.00 hrs.

You can arrive before and purchase drinks etc., which helps the Centre with their funding etc. Copies of the Agenda, Minutes and Financial Accounts will be available at the meeting.

Membership Fee – £20 yearly fee is due by 31.01.26.

What to Make – Should Shedders not be creating their own projects, there will be a list of items, on the notice board, of things to make or restore for sale which will benefit The Shed. Please feel free to just do your own thing creatively….

Art in The Shed – Several Shedders have expressed an interest in using the Shed to do some artwork.

The best day that will be dust-free would be a Friday, as mornings or afternoons are free. This could start as a “once a month” idea or be as flexible as those concerned wish it to be.

Please see John or Penny so that we can get this set up.

Ladies @BMS – This month’s workshop is going to be Kawandi. Date and venue to be sent out next week once the venue is confirmed.

I expect many of us are looking forward to Monday being the restart of “normality”. Let’s just hope that we won’t be needing our snow boots!

See you all at the AGM 13.00 hrs
