Birchington Man Shed

Well ….here we go again yet another month rushed by…
Chair
The Andalusian chair is selling well, so if you are interested in helping cut out and prepare this chair, please contact Clive. There has been a fantastic response with the Secret Garden selling them now for £150.00. This price includes her VAT but she does give all the profit to us, which is extremely generous.
Workshop
We are running another Workshop on Friday 27th June 10.00 – 14.00 hrs
Writing in collaboration with Ai. Contact Penny to put your name down.
You will need “Perplexity” loaded to enable you to get the best out of the course. Please ask and we can help you do this if needed.
Thursday afternoons
We are going to trial a get together on Thursday afternoons for a cuppa and chat from 2-4 pm. Fortnightly from the 12thJune, mainly to encourage a few more ladies to come along. There will be crafts available to join in with should they wish but the main priority will be togetherness. On the alternative Thursday wood working etc will continue. There is a programme of items to be made on these afternoons so that there will always be something to do.
At present we do not have any ladies attending so this is to try and create a bit more interest and find out why it is not supported as well as it used to be.
Wood Store
Following the committee meeting and the ideas put forward, John has now decided that a skip hire is the best way forward.
Please take any wood that you would like asap. Date will be sent on WhatsApp for clearing. We do have some of the Craft Village folk who are going to be helping themselves.
Birchington Active Leisure. Booklet now on Notice board.
At the above open day, we met many who were interested in joining and encouraged them to come up to the shed, where they would be welcomed with a cuppa and a chat to see if they would be interested in joining.
Their booklet is now on Notice board
We also met the guy from the Indoor Short Mat Bowls Club, who was keen for you all to know about his club. They do have a good group of people going along but was keen to have more!
The Centre £3.30 per session Mon & Thurs mornings 9.00 – 11.30
Members – 55+ – Contact Maureen Perry 01843.841469
We would also like to promote Birchington Together CiC in recognition of their very kind donation, by advertising their “Onelottery” cards are on the notice board. To join in telephone 01865 678 679 .
Rocking Horse
Ray took the horse home to complete so that he could paint it in a dust free environment. He has now finished it and we are looking to sell it for £400 + yet to be agreed. One person has already shown interest in it. We have yet to decide how to market it. Such a huge well done to Ray for doing it. I am sure the lady who donated it will be thrilled to see how posh the horse looks now!
